Diwali Event

Diwali celebrations at The Devil in Rye

Diwali is the festival of lights, which is celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists every autumn in the northern hemisphere.

One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance." Light is a metaphor for knowledge and consciousness. During the celebration, temples, homes, shops and office buildings are brightly illuminated.

Reserve a table and enjoy the Ambrettes twist on a Diwali tradtional feast.

To mark the occasion we have invited Bhavik Haria to play traditional and modern Diwali Indian music. Bhavik has over 20 years’ experience playing at Diwali celebrations and has played all over the world.

For those that love henna art we have invited Kajal from KK artistry back to the Ambrette to treat you with natural henna tattoos.

Please feel free to wear tradtional Indian dress, we will be!
